I Will Sing (Don Moen)

Lyrics

[Verse 1]
Lord, You seem so far away
A million miles or more, it feels today
And though I haven’t lost my faith
I must confess right now
That it’s hard for me to pray

[Pre-chorus]
But I don’t know what to say
And I don’t know where to start
But as You give the grace
With all that’s in my heart

[Chorus]
I will sing, yes, I will praise, even in my darkest hour
Through the sorrow and the pain
I will sing, I will praise, lift my hands to honor You
Because Your word is true, I will sing

[Verse 2]
Lord it’s hard for me to see all the thoughts
And plans You have for me, yes it is
But I will put my trust in You
Knowing that you died to set me free
(Oh thank God You did)

Our Thoughts

God never promised us a life free of challenges and pain but He does promise to be with us in the middle of our storms and fires. Our vision and our understanding are quite limited, being constrained by our earthly senses and time, but God is Omniscient (knowing all things) and is not bound by the perimeters of time. We must trust His unending, unchanging, unconditional love for us regardless of our current circumstances. It is our knowledge of this amazing love that casts out fear and enables us praise and worship God even when we’re hurting.

God is so very trustworthy because He is incapable of telling a lie. We should trust Him even when we can’t understand what is going on in our lives IF we have submitted our lives to Him completely. He is able to keep all we commit into His hands for all eternity.

So do go on and sing a song of love, of praise, of thanksgiving, of worship even when your heart feels broken. He sees and cares, and will heal every hurt with His loving touch.
